10 Tips to Fix Safari Cannot Connect to Server on iPhone 2022

iPhone is undoubtedly one of the most frequently-used devices in our daily life. Whenever we encounter any problem, we can pick up our iPhone and open the Safari browser to look for the solution of this problem.

If, all of a sudden, you find that the Safari cannot connect to server properly, what should you do?

2.1 Check Wifi Connection

Don't panic when we encounter an unknown technical error, it may be a simple glitch that can be solved very easily.

If your Safari browser suddenly can't find the server anymore, you can first check your iPhone's network connection: Cellular Data and WiFi connection. Then check if the Airplane mode is enabled or not.

2.2 Check the Website Address

If there is no problem with the network connection, you can check if the website address you opened in the Safari browser is correct or not, the link error can also cause the error of  web page failing to be loaded on Safari.

2.3 Clear Safari Cache and Data

Have you checked the network connection and the URLs to confirm that they are not normal? Then, there might be a conflict between Safari browser and data from a previous browsing session. To resolve this issue, you need to clear Safari web data and cache.

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone, then scroll to Safari.

Step 2: Then click on "Erase Clear history and website data". Then, open Safari browser again and load the web page and check if it is fixed.

2.4 Disable Content Blocker

Step 1: Open the Settings on your iPhone.

One of the reasons of "Safari cannot connect to the server" problem is that the DNS servers used to load web pages are unreliable. DNS is a domain system used to load web pages on the Internet. To check and modify the DNS server settings, follow these simple steps on your iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Click on Wi-Fi option and tap the icon next to the Wi-Fi.

Step 3: After that, click Configure DNS. If it is set as Automatic, change it to Manual. Then click on "Add Server" to add the Google DNS server of 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4.

2.6 Restart Your iPhone

Most iPhone issues can be solved by simply restarting your device. But the procedures to restart iPhone vary based on the device models.

For iPhone 8 and earlier models, press and hold the side button or the top button until you see a slider to turn off the device.

For iPhone X to iPhone 12, press and hold the side button and volume + button until you see a slider to turn off the device.

2.7 Reset Network Settings

All the WiFi passwords and DNS settings will be removed after resetting network settings. The network settings will be reset to default factory settings.

Step 1: Go to Settings > General > Reset.

Step 2: Click on Reset Network Settings and a  dialog box will appear asking you to confirm to  reset network settings again.

2.8 Update Your iPhone

That the Safari cannot connect to server issue may also be caused by a small glitch in the iOS system. Thankfully, Apple has quickly solved this critical issue. You can update your iPhone’s OS by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
