Part 1. Why Won’t My Airpods Case Charge?

The issue of AirPods not charging can be divided into two parts: the AirPods headset itself and the charging case. Here are the reasons why AirPods case not charging:

  • Software issue with AirPods.

  • Dirty dust blocking the charging port, resulting in the loose contact to the AirPods charging case.

  • AirPods charging case failure, such as the software issue that causes the AirPods charging case to fail to charge.

Part 2. What Do I Do If My AirPod Case Won't Charge?

We have tested and compiled the 6 solutions below to address the AirPods/AirPods Pro case not charging issue.

2.1 Check the Charging Port

Be sure that the Lightning cable is securely plugged into the charging case, USB power adapter and the power supply when AirPods/AirPods Pro are not charging.

2.2 Use a Different USB Cable

If your AirPods fails to charge, try plugging another USB cable into your computer or wall charger to see if it will charge properly.

Occasionally we may think that the AirPods case is not charging, but the faulty USB cable is the culprit of the problem. USB cables tend to break after a period of regular use. Sometimes the pins in the cable are rusty or dusty, so clean and keep them as clean as possible.

2.3 Clean Airpods Case

Dirty AirPods may cause the Airpods case to fail to charge. The dirt in the charging port will prevent AirPods from connecting to the charging case.

So it's recommended that you clean your AirPods every 72 hours, or at least three times a month if you use them for about eight hours a day, and clean your ears regularly to avoid getting more dirt on your AirPods.
